Sustainable Design
Utilizing a sustainable design philosophy encourages decisions at each phase of the design process that will reduce negative impacts on the environment and the health of the occupants, without compromising the bottom line. The LEED Green Building Rating System is a nationally recognized program developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
As an active member with the U.S. Green Building Council, LehnerFindlan Associates uses sustainable design to seek to reduce negative impacts on the environment, and improve the health and comfort of building occupants, thereby improving building performance.
LEED provides a definitive standard for what constitutes sustainable design of a “Green” building. With the guidance of our LEED Accredited Professional, Patrick Findlan AIA, LEED AP BD+C any project can actively pursue the sustainable design principles. Patrick possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in the design process, and to streamline the application and certification towards a LEED certified project.
Sustainable Design Principles:
Optimize site potential
Minimize non-renewable energy consumption
Use environmentally preferable products
Protect and conserve water
Enhance indoor environmental quality
Optimize operational and maintenance practices
